The excitement or non excitement of planning a wedding.
For this insurance agent working for Reliable Life Insurance, nothing was too complicating in getting things done when it came to her wedding day. She was thrilled and overjoyed with happiness when she was proposed to. The first thought that came to mind was to plan a wedding reception.
For the wedding the one thing that was purchased and the first thing, were the wedding rings. There are many things that run through a brides mind when it comes to preparing for a wedding. Her thought was, “What would it be like living with someone?” Since she has never lived with anyone other than her parents, it was a new venture.
The bride and groom both took steps in deciding what could be done in planning their wedding. They decided to have their wedding at the Justice of Peace. There was no wedding planner, the bride did everything herself from cooking, making out invitations, to photography and setting up the reception which was an event held at her newly build home. The wedding reception was held the next day.
Being an avid reader she enlisted books like The Knot, Martha Stewart, wedding and food magazines to help her along the way to get an idea of what a wedding should feel like. She has yet to go on a honeymoon. The total cost of the wedding was $600. Both bride and groom learned to cut corners in saving on the wedding because of the home that was built by doing some of the things themselves. The bride however, compromised her time and would not compromise the value of family and her children; and if she were to do it again, she would hire a housekeeper.
For the wedding she would have compromised the location of the wedding. She wanted to have it in her home. It was a stressful time for her and what she did to relax was much prayer and meditation. The one thing that she would have done differently was to have a destination wedding, very exclusive because of the amount of work involved.
Advice given to newly brides or couples is keep God first and never go to bed angry.
